About Me

I am Yulong Dong, a PhD student in Applied Mathematics at University of California, Berkeley. I got my BS in Chemical Physics with honor at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2018.

My undergraduate research was mainly about statistical mechanics and applied variance reduction of Monte Carlo estimate. I did my undergraduate thesis under the supervision of Prof. Zhonghuai Hou in the department of chemical physics at USTC.

As a graduate student at Berkeley, I am coadvised by Prof. Lin Lin in Mathematics and Prof. K. Birgitta Whaley in Chemistry. My research interest lies broadly in quantum algorithms, numerical linear algebra, applied numerical analysis of optimization and control theory.
